At Ethiraj College for Women, we are determined in our efforts to move forward in alignment with United Nation’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable development. The 17 goals enshrined in the agenda serves as a blueprint for a long term commitment to the welfare of the world in terms of peace, justice and prosperity. As an educational institution, we believe in the collective strength of our community to unswervingly work towards the goals. We are aware of our responsibility towards society and hence, all our endeavours focus on most of the sustainability goals.

The vision and mission statement of the College itself aligns with the goal of gender equity and quality education, and strives to bring in innovation & inclusivity at every step towards progress. The educational policy of the institution is premised upon fostering of independent thinking and freedom to pursue excellence with a global outlook. It aligns with the goal of peace, justice and strong institutions. Community engagement is another significant focus of the institution as evident from the various MoUs signed with diverse organizations and several events are strategically planned in collaboration with them to achieve a common goal.

In terms of green initiatives, the institution conducts regular Green and Energy audits. Usage of RO plants, rainwater harvesting & vermicomposting are some examples of the initiatives taken by the College to head towards sustainable environmental practices. Installation of Solar plants on the roof tops of our buildings is a case in point. Sports and yoga are offered to our students, which aligns with UN Goal of holistic health and well- being.

Ethiraj College for Women continues to strive as a pioneer in its commitment towards the changing needs of the world. It is no different when it comes to Sustainability and it believes in transforming generation of students into responsible citizens who would become the beacons of inspiration to lead a movement towards sustaining earth a liveable planet for future.
