Memorandum of Understanding MoU 2019

The Department of Chemistry signed up a MoU with an NGO called GO4GURU which is an educational services based organization which extends its service in various aspects to School and College students at national level for the past 12 years.

GO4GURU has its corporate office at Virginia, United States of America and also have branch offices in Chennai and South Tamil Nadu. It renders its services in various forms Viz., International space Competition (Free trips to NASA), Educational Trip to NASA, Model United Nations Forum, Online Tutoring, Europe Educational Tours, Video Conferencing with NASA Astronauts, Online Quiz. The Department of Chemistry wishes to bring in few services among these to our institution in the initial level and make it beneficial to all science students of Ethiraj college both Aided and Self supporting viz., Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, PBPB, AZB, N&D, CND, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Psychology, Visual Communication.

Through this tie-up, the department of Chemistry would act as a bridge between the above said NGO and the interested students from all Science departments that would help them in attending Online Competitions, Meet and Greet the Astronauts, UN Forum etc., It is a type of tie-up which would require less or sometime no financial support from any other Government organization. In this regard we wish to get your permission in proceeding further.

ABOUT US

The College which was founded in the year 1948 in post independent era, with a mission to educate women, rightfully clinched on a science course in chemistry at intermediate level. The department of chemistry was established in 1957 with the introduction of B.Sc Chemistry. It was upgraded to a post graduate department in 1989 and research department in 2005 offering M.Phil programme and full fledged research department in 2012 with the introduction of Ph.D degree programme. The UG and PG curriculam is on par with the current trends in chemistry and offers papers like spectroscopy, Nano Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, pharmaceutical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Electrochemistry and Polymer Chemistry. The Department organizes symposium/worskshop/conference annually for the benefit of staff and students. The department has excellent infrastructure with well equipped laboratories which meets out the demands of the modern technology.
