ABOUT US
About Us:
- The Department was incepted in the year 1948 as the Department of Economics and History. It was upgraded as an individual Department of History in 1957 and introduced Tourism and Travel Management as an additional stream in 2003.
- The Department offers UG and PG course in History and UG course in Tourism and Travel Management.
- The Department has 11 permanent, fully qualified Faculties and 2 Trust Faculties.
- The sanctioned strength is 70 for UG and 25 for PG.
- The Department organizes Workshops, Seminars, Internships and Guest Lectures to enhance the skills of the students. The Department has signed a MoU with the State Department of Archaeology.
- The Department conducts Certificate Courses in German, Japanese and Spanish.
- Students of the Department have participated in several International, National and State level competitions and have won prizes, including the Guinness World Records and at the Commonwealth Games.
- The Department conducts annual Educational Tours.
- The Department offers courses for competitive exams in its curriculum.
- The Department conducts its annual Association “Historica”, a platform that showcases the talents and abilities of students.
