DEPARTMENT PROFILE

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship had its modest beginning in the year 1987 with its unique UG program inbuilt to provide an exposure to the students in the arena of Secretarial Practice. The primary aim of the program is to equip the students with the requisite conceptual, entrepreneurial, analytical, cognitive skills along with developing logical, reasoning and innovative abilities for carving a niche in the corporate world. The department has grown tremendously and upgraded with PG and M. Phil programs. With the emerging need for adherence to regulations and Corporate Governance, the program has attained significant importance and has gained widespread recognition. The department operates with the vision to achieve academic excellence, promotes the development of competitive skills to boost successful employability in a dynamic world and emphasizes continuous learning with a streamlined curriculum blended with the recent developments in the field. The department is a pioneer in the introduction of Institutional Training, offering exposure to the practical aspects of business. It also offers a Training program on Placement Preparation, annually, to equip the final year UG and PG students. The program provides in-depth knowledge in the areas of Corporate Laws, Corporate Restructuring Laws, Entrepreneurial Development, e-Banking, Women and Law, Human Resources and Protective Legislations, Compliance Management and Due Diligence, Project Management, Intellectual Property Rights, Cyber Commerce, Artificial Intelligence, Corporate Governance and Sustainability, Business Data Processing, Women Rights etc. The courses offered are designed to assist students foray into professional courses and serves as a launch pad for their entry into ACS, ICMAI and ICAI. The UG program provides access to the highest quality business education as a means of achieving intellectual and professional goals and motivates the students to pursue higher education, undertake placements in reputed corporates, foster students to become emotionally strong and financially independent by inculcating ethical and moral values.

Memorandums of Understanding :

✓ The Department has collaborated from the year 2014 with ACCA (Association of Certified Chartered Accountants) a global body for professional accountants to foster the learning of global Accounting and Finance skills among students increasing their employability with popular MNCs. The program provides an opportunity to acquire an additional B.Sc. degree from Oxford Brookes University, UK.
✓ The department’s commitment towards the underprivileged has taken the form of an MOU with Vaishnavi Trust from the year 2019. To address its community responsibility needs, the department acquires learning materials, stationery, facilitates volunteers for English teaching and arrangement of our students as scribes, besides fundraising for needy students.
✓ To equip students with hands on training, the department has teamed with Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Technology Development Centre, Government of India Enterprise to offer courses on GST Practioner/ Digital Marketing from the year 2022.
